About Sally

Welcome to the website of Sally Collings, author, publisher and public speaker.

Sally has worked in book publishing for more than 20 years, building unparalleled expertise and a sparkling reputation in non-fiction.

As an author, Sally’s books include: Sophie’s Journey (the bestselling story of Sophie Delezio), Positive (accounts of the ‘upside’ of cancer), and The World According to Kids (children’s views of life, love and chocolate cake). Her next book, working title Parenting With Soul, will be published by HarperCollins Publishers in 2011. As a publisher and editor she has taken hundreds of authors from manuscript to printed book.

She has worked as consultant and co-writer on other bestsellers including Chris O’Brien’s Never Say Die (shortlisted for ABIA Biography of the Year in 2009) and A Letter to Sophie with Ron Delezio and Carolyn Martin.

In 2009 Sally co-founded Red Hill Publishing, an independent Brisbane-based book publisher. She has presented courses on writing and publishing for the Queensland Writers Centre; is a regular guest lecturer on publishing at the University of Queensland; and works with schools and writing groups as a workshop leader and writer in residence.
