Parenting with Soul is on its way!

I am beyond excited. My new book, Parenting with Soul, will be released into the world in about seven weeks’ time.

I like to describe Parenting with Soul as a divine nappy bag: it contains everything you need to reclaim a sense of wonder and purpose in your life. It won’t tell you what to believe, but it will show you how to make spirituality part of your family’s life.

It’s about seeing the sacred in our homes and turning the things we do each day into opportunities to practice mindfulness, gratitude, love, generosity, and other spiritual qualities.

I’ve looked high and low for practices to include in the book that do NOT to take up extra time. Most can be woven into every parent’s busy day, and each practice is presented as an opportunity rather than another item for a to-do list. If you’re anything like me, you’d like to have a dollar for every time someone says, ‘by setting aside just five minutes each day you can lose 100 kilos/become a genius/split the atom.’ Please. Where are these five minutes you think I have spare?

Here’s some of the ground I cover in Parenting with Soul:

  • Slowing down, living in the present and savouring the special moments.
  • Connecting with the divine and discovering happiness in small things.
  • Working out what really lifts your soul and making time for those things.
  • Giving your children the gift of your attention.

Watch this space to find out more. Parenting with Soul will be in bookstores in April; it will be available in print and digital forms; and it’s published by HarperCollins Australia. And it’s brilliant. Trust me.
