Some of you will know that Sydney surgeon Chris O’Brien passed away last week. Two and a half years ago he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a particularly aggressive brain cancer. His survival has amazed many, but more than that his positive response has been an absolute inspiration. I worked with Chris last year on his memoir, Never Say Die, and was impressed by his unfailingly courteous and generous nature.

Chris O’Brien created a unique legacy, not only for himself but for others. He was instrumental in setting up Lifehouse at RPA, a cancer treatment and research facility that emphasises a holistic approach to cancer. Read more
